The Stylist Experience

1. Can you introduce yourself and tell us about PatBO?

I'm Emily Wriston, and I’m a full-time stylist here at PatBO's Miami store. PatBO is a Brazilian, female-founded brand here in the Miami Design District. I've been with the company for a little over a year now.

The style is very much Brazilian, authentic to the roots. Also, Patricia Bonji, the founder and creative director, started as a couture designer and then she traveled into more of a resort wear.

2. What's your favorite part of being a stylist at PatBO?

My favorite part is being able to actually style someone and then seeing the result when they are happy and confident, making them feel empowered. Because that’s what PatBo is all about: female empowerment.

Using Endear at Work

3. How did you start using Endear, and what intrigued you about it?

When I was hired, they were speaking about Endear and the platform. I had never used it before but I was very intrigued because I love all the behind-the-scenes tech and interacting with clients from all over the world. That’s more my thing, being behind the scenes, as opposed to being on the sales floor. I also feel like that’s where we’re moving in the digital age, to be able to connect with customers and give that level of clienteling experience.

I love it. I don’t have to talk to them in person, I can talk to them through tech, and that’s a really cool thing.

4. How often do you use Endear, and what aspects of it appeal to you most?

I use Endear daily and I’ve grown obsessed with it. It’s almost like Instagram honestly, because I love that I can talk to clients and also make sales off of it. That’s a huge, amazing thing to be able to not be physically in the store to work; to not be at the store but to still be able to make money for the store. I think of it like email, checking my email constantly, following up. It’s a way to follow up with my clients if they need anything, if they need a tracking number to their order, if they want to place an order, just constantly talking to them. It’s nice.

Tips for Clienteling with Endear

5. What's your pro tip for new users of Endear?

Just play around with the platform and make it to your ability, I guess I would say. I do a lot of support chats and get to know the product more. Eventually, you'll find your own way.

6. What's your approach to initial client outreach on Endear?

My go-to message is asking them how they are, have they've visited our store before, or if they know the brand or if they’re new to the brand. Just asking them more personal questions so it’s not so robotic, that they know it’s a person at the end of the line.

7. How do you identify potential clients to reach out to via Endear?

Mainly, we were assigned specific clients when we first opened, to reach out to. But also, when someone places a web order on PatBO.com, if they're local, I always reach out to them to let them know we have a store, if they need any size help or fit questions. Because they are placing it online, so some clients do order one or two sizes of one dress or one top, so instead of doing that they can come to us.

8. How do you differentiate PatBO's client outreach from standard marketing templates?

We can’t just take the marketing team’s template because the clients will know. Are they taking a vacation soon? Are they coming to Miami? Even if they shop in the store, I always reach out to them by email or text, “hope to see you again soon!” I make it seem like I’m texting a friend.

Benefits of Using Endear

9. What was your client interaction process like before using Endear?

So we were able to create a lookbook in Endear and send it to our clientele, and they were able to reach back out and see if they wanted to do a preorder.

I’ve had roles without Endear and honestly it was sort of prehistoric. At one of my last jobs I was just emailing clients; they gave us a printed email list and told us to reach out to them like that. We also had to use our personal phone numbers, which I didn’t like, having the client have my actual number. With Endear they give you a separate number which isn’t linked to your personal number, which I love, and it makes it seamless. Endear’s tech is really on point.

10. How does Endear keep you motivated?

Endear is one of the biggest motivation tools I have. When I come to work everyday, even on my days off, I’m motivated because I have access to it in my hand. I can do it on the go, I can do it by the pool, I have access to it 24/7. It’s great to be able to have that and make money off of it too.

Endear empowers me because when I see the numbers and what I’m able to do and I’m killing it, I'm like, I want more, I want more! It’s really a sales-driven app to use. It’s the way of the world now. Printing off a list and sending emails is not the thing anymore. Asking someone to use their personal number is not either.

I have a lot of international clients too, and being able to connect with them is amazing.

Endear empowers me because when I see the numbers and what I’m able to do and I’m killing it, I'm like, I want more, I want more!

11. What's your favorite feature of Endear, and why?

Creating lookbooks. You can create as many as you want. I enjoy being creative, Canva-style things. As a stylist, it’s fun to create your own lookbook and send it to your clients. And you can personalize it as well.

12. Do you have specific strategies for suggestive selling with Endear?

I always do suggestive-selling by looking at their profile in Endear. Maybe they bought the top and there is a matching skirt. “Hey I saw that you got the top, do you want the matching skirt in your size?” Also when things are sold out, I can reach out to the client and let them know when it’s back in stock.

Endear is an amazing tool to connect with clients outside of a physical brick & mortar store. You can make money off of it. You can connect with clients all over the world. You can create lookbooks and send personalized ones to each client. And you’re able to do it within your hand because you have access to it all the time. It’s great to have a tool like that.

13. What major challenge has Endear solved for you?

The biggest challenge Endear solved for me was being able to connect with the client and offer product knowledge to them, whether it’s before they place an order or after they place an order, just being there and letting them know that they have a stylist at their fingertips. They can reach out to me at any time and ask me any type of product knowledge, feedback, the fit, size questions; things they wouldn’t get shopping online, they have with me on Endear.

14. How has using Endear influenced your sales approach?

Just seeing how much money I can make off of Endear really helped motivate me and has motivated me to do it continuously, and have a pipeline going of clients in rotation, following up with them. I look at it like a sales funnel because I have so much sales experience. If you don’t have something in the pipeline, you’re not going to make sales, so it helps me to constantly keep at it. It’s a numbers game so the more clients you hit up, the more sales you’re going to make.

15. Any final thoughts on Endear?

I love Endear!
